SUSHI COURSES

Tokyokan arranges public sushi courses for both professional and home chefs. Depending on our resources, we also provide private sushi courses for companies and organizations. All courses, both public and private, are arranged on Wednesday evenings in the premises of Tokyokan. The courses start at 6 pm and take at least 4 hours.

The programme is as follows:

  • lecture about sushi and distribution of course material
  • preparation of tofu pouches (inarizushi) and serving of green tea (o-cha)
  • preparation of miso soup (misoshiru), rolled sushi (makizushi) and hand-moulded sushi (nigirizushi)
  • eating of the self-prepared sushi

The next public courses will be arranged on 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 February, and 7 and 14 March 2012. The courses of April and May will be announced on this page during week 9 (27 February to 3 March 2012). Please send all applications and inquiries by e-mail. In the application, state which course (which date) you apply for, the names of all participants in your group, your phone number and the number(s) of gift card(s) if any.

Places are assigned in the order of application and holders of gift cards have preference. Successful applicants will be sent a confirmation and payment instructions by e-mail. The fee 65 EUR per person is to be paid in advance to the bank account of Tokyokan. The fee includes a personal sushi mat (makisu) and a nigirizushi mould (sushikata) to be used during the course (value about 10 EUR). Please use your prepaid gift cards as soon as possible.
